Community make the most of new Sports Hall
September 29, 2007
Last weekend residents, children and community groups all took their opportunity to see what the new Dare Community Sports Hall has on offer for them.
The day offered a number of activities from street dancing to short tennis, circus skills to rock climbing and even some driving lessons.
Traditional after school activities along with break dancing and bowls were also introduced through the pioneering youth service that is E3.
Councillor Graham Thomas, Cabinet Member for Culture, Recreation and Tourism officially opened the hall at Aberdare Boys Comprehensive school at the end of last term with Councillor Mike Forey and said, “Although the sports hall was officially unveiled last term, this activity day was about involving the community and other school children, showing them how they can benefit from the fabulous facilities and equipment on offer.
“More and more these days we are able to offer community focused schools, giving the surrounding community and the school itself bigger and better facilities.”
If you would like more information on the facilities on offer at the Dare Community Sports Hall then please contact Andy Thomas or Nicola Hughes on 01685 872642.
