Battle of the Bands Competition is Launched

Competition is heating up for a brand new ‘Battle of the Bands’ competition which is being held for the very first time at the University of Glamorgan’s impressive ATRiuM building in Cardiff.

Organised by the Cardiff School of Creative & Cultural Industries, the competition is open to up and coming young bands with a real talent for music.

The competition itself will be held at the new ATRiuM building on Saturday 5th April where the short-listed bands will perform live before the general public and a team of industry experts.

The event marks the launch of the University’s new ‘Music Academy’ in partnership with Roland UK.
The Academy’s aim is to implement the delivery of world-class music training both nationally and internationally, throughout the national qualifications framework.

The winning act will receive £3000 worth of Roland equipment plus three days recording time in one of the state-of-the-art recording studios at ATRiuM.

To enter the competition, the bands must meet the following criteria:
1) Be aged 16 – 25 and in either in full/part time education
2) Submit a 2/3 track demonstration recording either on CD or via a URL link to a social network site e.g. My Space by 5th March
3) Be able to perform the demonstration music tracks live at the Battle of the Bands final on the 5th April
